Why Hello!
It has been a long time since I've sat down to write out a post! This past year has been absolutely crazy for everyone.
Now that we have had some experience and time to reflect in this pandemic I say it's about time we push on with what we love to do. Life is way too short to please everyone and do things that don't matter to you. I've loved and I've lost this past year but for me personally one of the things that helped me was holding on to an activity that I adore... baking! A lot of which I have done! We all went through a baking phase in this pandemic and I LOVED seeing everyone's different creations!
This past year has been a struggle for not only me but a lot of people I know. It's been such a drain mentally to have to change the way we lived and did things in life but what we did has helped not only us but others that we love around us!
I personally have loved making cakes and cupcakes this year! They are so much fun to just sit down and create whatever you want! I got the honor of making a good friends graduation cake, Mr. Flamingo, I got to make some absolutely delicious cupcakes and cake pops but one of my favorites so far, has been a wedding cake!
I love love love summer and spring time and with spring time comes delicious flavors like all the berries and fruits of summer. For this wedding cake I did a strawberry cake with cream cheese buttercream with fresh strawberries layered between the cakes. The bride to be had a beautiful color scheme and I loved being able to go hunt for fresh flowers that fit in that color array and make the pieces. It is so stressful driving with a cake, I am a very paranoid person when it comes to travelling with a 3 piece cake!
